Street Books: Winter Edition
Dear Friends:
This winter we are hard at work with a pilot project we’re calling Street Books: Outposts. This is part of an expansion that adds a winter library shift to indoor spaces, (including a librarian & books to stock shelves) at shelters and partner organizations like:
Walnut Park, Clackamas Service Center, Trinity, Street Roots Newspaper, p:ear, Sisters of the Road, the MLK Workers’ Center (Spanish shift), Clay Street Table (at St. Stephens church), Bud Clark Commons, and the new River District Navigation shelter.
We post periodic (okay, sporadic) updates to this website, but for now the best places to visit for more current updates (and wonderful pictures) are our Facebook and Instagram pages. We also have a patreon page with opportunities for you to pledge a monthly donation (from $3-100) to support our work. This also entitles you to some seriously one-of-a-kind stories, photos and updates from the street library, (once in a while you’ll even see a taxidermied armadillo).
We are equal parts stoked, humbled and amazed to be a thriving nonprofit almost 10 years after our scrappy beginnings at Skidmore Fountain, June 2011. Stay tuned for details on the epic celebration we’re planning for September 2020. We’re grateful for your ongoing support and can’t wait to see you this year!
