471 People Can't Be Wrong

Thank you, thank you!

We are grateful to you and the 470 other supporters who helped us raise $66,554.78 through Willamette Week's Give!Guide, and begin the new year with optimism for the work ahead. When you donate to Street Books, you support a community built on a shared love of literature that recognizes the worth and dignity of each library patron.

Thanks to supporters like you, in 2024 we provided our patrons with:

  • 8,419 mostly donated books

  • 1,008 pairs of reading glasses

  • 3,548 doses of Narcan, and other life-saving supplies such as blankets, water, wound care and hygiene kits and more

  • Carefully curated books for the bicycles and community boxes, so our library patron see their own interests, lives and needs reflected in what we are offering.

  • Friendly librarians who know our patrons’ names and reading preferences.

Willamette Week's Give!Guide raised $8,867,393 for 250 local nonprofits, the highest total ever raised, and the seventh consecutive year of record-breaking success! One of our favorite parts of this year's campaign was the collaboration with many of our partners, boosting their mission alongside our own and working with some excellent businesses and individuals. Big thanks again to:

Big thanks to Kerry for everything she does for Street Books!

Street librarian Kerry Robison has joined the Welcome Home Coalition to represent Street Books in the coming year, and to work to ensure that every person has a safe, stable and affordable place to call home.

Kerry was also recently featured in This Place, a program from Oregon Humanities that features Oregonians talking about where they live, work and find joy.

CLE-Cast Shares Profits in February With Street Books

If you are a lawyer or other professional (or know someone who is), in need of continuing legal education, please consider CLEcast, a company that supports the legal field and nonprofits. They create Continuing Legal Education (CLE) videos for lawyers and split net profit with organizations that have 501(c)(3) status. Because they have worked for nonprofits, they understand the value of a simple funding stream. Additionally, as part of the legal field, they know that CLEs can be expensive. They hope to provide a simple solution to these issues and support Street Books in February.
Here are the instructions for supporters: (in February)
1.       Go to CLEcast.net/videos
2.       Click on the name "Street Books," and the videos you can buy to support will appear
3.       Buy a video
4.       Watch it within 6 months to get CLE credit, and know that half of the net profit will go to support Street Books

Have friends that work in the legal field? Please share this with them!
